
Tried a nut, called buah keluak. According to my friend, it is a Peranakan delicacy, expensive for the way it is prepared. The nut has to be scrubbed and clean, with the inside fillings taken out to be fried with chilli sambal and then put back into the nut. It usually comes in a well known Peranakan dish called the Ayam Buah Keluak. A quiet taste...but interesting.
